الطرابلسية القديمة  والتي كانت تعرف وقتها بالمالوف
وزاد حبه لها عند تواجده في قهوة والده المروحم الحاج يوسف شلابي
الذي كان يعمل قهواجي والذي إشتهر بهذه المهنة في الوسط
 الطرابلسي القديم  وكانت قهوه تقع في بداية سوق المشير تحت المدخل
 الرئيسي للسوق ومن تلك الأجواء تعلق قلب الفقيد بكل ما هو
يحاكي طرابلس القديمة وضواحيها القديمة وحبه لها هو ما أرجعه
بعد الإنتهاء من دراسته في الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية لها
